If you are downloading Office 2010 for free, I will caution you that Microsoft does not offer any version of Office for free. I will also caution you that by going to a website that offers a free download of a normally “paid-for” product, you are running the risk of downloading a program that has been altered to contain spyware and viruses that will compromise your PC. Be very careful! Oh, and LibreOffice and Apache Open Office are free and both work quite well.
The LibreOffice suite includes: LibreOffice Writer: Document creation, formatting and editing. LibreOffice Call: Math, physics, and science calculations. LibreOffice Impress: Presentations, PDF documents, and slide shows. LibreOffice Draw: Drawing. LibreOffice Math: Math equations. LibreOffice Math PDF: Math equations in PDF format. LibreOffice Draw PDF: Math equations in Postscript format. LibreOffice Impress Forms: Drawing, drawing form, and graphic design applications. LibreOffice Impress PDF Forms: Drawing, drawing form, and graphic design applications in PDF format. LibreOffice Math PDF Forms: Math equations in PDF format. LibreOffice Call Forms: Calculation. LibreOffice Imagers: Presentations, PDF documents, and slide shows. LibreOffice Presentation Forms: Presentations, PDF documents, and slide shows. LibreOffice Graphics Forms: Drawing and graphic design application. I know it doesn't really matter, but you should probably install Open office when you have a hard disk drive that needs to be used for storing some of your documents, or just because it looks nicer. That said, I haven't personally tested either and neither have other readers of this newsletter,.
