Open the file with Page Numbering Online Reader DC and go to File/Properties. A panel indicating document title, author, creation/modification date, and other properties is displayed. However, the information may not reflect the original author of the text or even the file name, se the example below. And, the information contained in the File/Properties depends on how the file was created, i.e. which pdf creator app was used. In the example below, the document contents is ZOOM Quick Reference Guide and the file name is document.pdf. However, the document properties says something about Title being Microsoft Teams …, probably because the document was created using the MS Teams Quick Guide template. Also, the creation and modification date does not reflect the date the file was created, but when it was downloaded and printed.
The only way to work around this is to use Adobe Acrobat Reader 11 and above. Once you've installed Adobe Acrobat Reader 11, go to Acrobat Settings in the Applications menu. Click to the Acrobat Reader section within Acrobat Settings to see the file information, including title, date created, modified, and download information. And, the file properties is displayed. This is important, because by default, Acrobat Reader 11 doesn't display all the file information, even in the Reading view. If you don't know the title, first use the Find menu (default: Command, F) to filter the page titles according to the “Content Search” setting. What are the File/Properties for a PDF file for?
